Something that I have come to learn about myself is that in the Summer time I really don't want to have to do anything. I think this stems from conditioning as a child, we usually moved in the summer. Which meant long car rides of nothing but reading, listening to music, drawing and the like. Interpesed with stopping to look at historical and otherwise points of interest along the freeways of the country. Not a whole lot of social interaction, lots of quite, lots of relaxing. That's what I like in the summer.
When it's hot, I don't really want to move, I don't even want to eat. *gasp* But in our adult society at least this is not the reality of Summer. Summer energy tends to manifest itself in people in high energy, go, go go! Now, now, now! I find myself in a constant state of having to take a deep breath and not flick my tail at things that would normal roll off my back with a laugh and no issue.
Hmm...oh well gotta find a way to deal with the summer grumps. Maybe some sort of warding spell...I dunno I'll have to chew on it.
In the mean time, things have slowed down to a lovely leisurely pace at my house anyway. The evenings are spent in quiet company, something light for dinner. We've been doing a lot more reading and projects which is just perfect for me.
I've taken my hand to appliqué and embroidery (poor though it may be). For a while now I've been wanting a specific Sacred bag for some of my scara, namely my Amazon cord, and crown. I've had an emblem for a long time (as in since I was 9), and it's changed only minutely over the years. It's something I've wanted to incorporate more in my public practice as it has a large role in my personal stuff. So when I think of a bag for my sacra, it surely must have my emblem. I'm thinking it will be an envelope type bag/case, but before I get to construction I have to finish the emblem.
Besides the raven (which is red because that happened to be the only felt I had around and it will look nice with my red bag) there will be three interlocking rings with a sword through the middle. Since this is my first major embroidery project it will no doubt not be perfect, but hey it's the intention and the energy that counts.
All I know is that I'm enjoying my evenings with a big ol' glass of sweet tea and working on my case.
Ta!
